Are you planning to drive one day? Get ready to hit the road with confidence and peace of mind by mastering the fundamentals of car maintenance and repair. This comprehensive course is designed to empower new car owners with practical skills and an in-depth understanding of their vehicles.

What You Will Learn:

• Oil and Brake Maintenance: Acquire the skills to check and change oil; understand the significance of oil in engine performance and longevity. Learn how to inspect, maintain, and replace brake systems to ensure safety on the road.
• Tire Management: Get practical training on removing and replacing tires, and understand tire health to prevent roadside emergencies.
• Understanding Your Engine: Dig into the mechanics of a 4-stroke internal combustion engine through hands-on disassembly and reassembly. Learn how each component functions and how they interconnect to power your vehicle.

Mechanics 20 (3 credits)

Fee: $50.00

Location: Leduc Composite High School, 4308 50 St., Leduc

The prerequisite for this course is the successful completion of Mechanics 10.  This course is not available through regular registration.  Priority will be given to students whose resident schools do not offer a mechanics program.  Please send an email to [email protected] if you would like to register for the course.

• Suspension Systems: Explore the function of suspension systems and how they contribute to a smooth ride. Gain hands-on experience in dismantling and reassembling suspension components.

Wheel Alignment: Acquire the ability to adjust and align wheels correctly, which is crucial for extending tire life and ensuring safe vehicle handling.
