Grade 1 and 2 Literacy & Numeracy Camps - CLOSED

Welcome to Black Gold’s Literacy and Numeracy Summer Camps! 

Literacy and Numeracy Camps are for current Black Gold students who have just completed Grade 1 or Grade 2.  These camps are an opportunity to improve a child’s foundational skills. Attendance in these programs are by classroom teacher referral only. Please talk with your child’s teacher if your child needs some support in the areas outlined below.   

Summer Literacy Camp - FULL...waitlist only

Would your child benefit from an opportunity to improve his or her foundational literacy skills?

Increasing letter/sound identification, building fluency, vocabulary and reading comprehension will be the focus of this summer’s literacy camp. 

When? 

July 7 – 11, 9:00am – 11:45am 

Where?  

West Haven Public School (325 West Haven Dr., Leduc Alberta) or

Ecole Champs Vallee School (6002 30 Ave., Beaumont, Alberta)

What is the cost? $125.00 for a one week session 

Who can attend? Current Black Gold students who have just completed Grade 1 or Grade 2 and have been referred by their current classroom teacher. 

** If the program is not full by June 30, the program may be canceled.  Please register promptly. 

Summer Numeracy Camp - FULL...waitlist only

Would your child benefit from an opportunity to improve his or her foundational numeracy skills? 

Building number sense up to 100 (including practice with counting, representing numbers, identifying numerals, comparing numerals using “More/Less”, and basic addition/subtraction to 20) will be the focus of this summer’s numeracy camp. 

When? 

July 7 – 11, 12:30 – 3:15pm 

Where?

Note – If parents are registering their child from both the Literacy and Numeracy Camp, they MUST pack their child a lunch. Lunch hour supervision will be provided. Cost for both camps is $250.00 total.
